Kaniship is owned and operated by Lemwell Fincher, an individual based in the United States ("we," "us"). This policy explains what information we collect when you visit kaniship.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Server logs. Like every website, our host (Hostinger) automatically records standard server logs when you visit: IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring site and the time. These logs are used only for security and keeping the site running, and are not used to build visitor profiles. We do not run analytics or advertising scripts.
Local browser storage. If you save articles or dismiss banners, those preferences are stored in your browser's localStorage on your device. We do not read, sync, or back up this data. Clearing your browser's site data erases it.
Email, if you contact us. If you email our contact address, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to share. We use it only to reply. We do not add contact-form emails to any marketing list.
What we don't collect
We do not set tracking cookies. We do not use retargeting pixels. We do not sell, share, or trade data with advertisers or data brokers. We do not build visitor profiles. We do not run ads.
Partner links
When you click a link marked "Partner," you are leaving kaniship.com for a third-party vendor's site. That vendor sets its own cookies and receives standard referral information per its own privacy policy. We receive an aggregated click count — never information identifying you.
Legal basis (GDPR)
Server logs are processed on the basis of legitimate interest (operating and securing the site). Because we do not collect personal data in the course of ordinary site use, no additional lawful basis is needed for most readers. If you email us, your correspondence is processed on the basis of your request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, and other frameworks)
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port personal data we hold about you; to object to processing; or to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. Because we do not maintain any user database or sell any data, there is in most cases no record of you on our systems. If you have emailed us and want your correspondence deleted, write to privacy@kaniship.com and we will delete it within 30 days.
Children
Kaniship is a B2B publication intended for professional audiences. It is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Data retention
Server logs are retained according to our host's standard retention period. Email correspondence is retained for 24 months unless you request earlier deletion.
Security
Site traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). The site is hosted by Hostinger.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as practices evolve. The "Last updated" date at the bottom will change. Material changes will be announced via a banner on the homepage for 30 days.
